Members of the Santa Fe Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise, June 22 – 23, at Ensor Park on 183rd Street between US-169 and Ridgeview in south Olathe, KS.
Kay Eyman's DXexpedition to Bhutan

Kay Eyman (WA0WOF) did a Tech Night presentation about her trip to Bhutan for the A52YL DXexpedition. Her trip was from April 29 through May 5, 2018. Kay met up with three other amateurs and her friends Kyoko "Mio" Miyoshi, JR3MVF, Junichi Tojo, JH3AEF, and Jusei Kitai, JA3IVU, on their 7th trip to the Kingdom of Bhutan. They operated from Dochula Eco Retreat, which is described on the Internet as the most scenic spot in Bhutan. A picture of the hotel is below.
Mio and Kay were issued A52YL as a club or group license, and the two OMs used their calls, A52AEF and A52IVU, respectively. In addition, Mio and Kay were issued individual licenses. Mio's is A52YLM and Kay's is A52YLE.

Greetings to members of the SFTARC
Summer activities are upon us! The heat and humidity arrived too quickly for my liking, and I found myself asking nobody in particular “Where did Spring go?” Oh well, I guess we put our best foot forward no matter what Nature happens to give us.
Radios on the Prairie

For the third consecutive year the SFTARC will do a mini-DXpediton to the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve near Strong City, KS. On Saturday, April 21, we will be setting up a couple of HF stations next to a historic three-story barn on the Preserve, with a goal of being on the air from 9:00 am to noon CDT. This Special Event Station will celebrate Junior Ranger Day which is sponsored by National Park Service personnel at the Tallgrass Preserve.
