The Santa Fe Trail Amateur Radio Club is a general-purpose club with the goal of promoting and supporting the educational and operational aspects of ham radio through ham radio classes, on-the-air events, and hands-on activity. THE SATURDAY BREAKFAST MEETINGS ARE HELD  AT PERKINS IN GARDNER EACH SATURDAY. YOU ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US 6:30 AM TO ~8:30AMThe monthly business meeting is the 2nd Saturday of each month. This meeting is a hybrid meeting in which you can attend in person at Perkins in Gardner or you can attend via a Zoom connection. Additionally, the club holds a Tech Night presentation via Zoom the last Thursday evening of each month at 7:30 pm. Meeting Notes (October 7, 2017)

MEETING TO ORDER:


The President, Greg Wolfe KI0KK, called the meeting to order.
Introductions of attendees were made by name and call-sign.  Members present were 23 

SECRETARY-TREASURER REPORT:  


The Sec-Treasurer Report was given by Mike Costello KB0ISQ.  He verbally reported the revenue and disbursement amounts the club incurred since our last meeting.  Expenses for the month of September were – Web site expenses - $270.35 which included three years of GoDaddy hosting our web site and programs for use with on website.

If you haven’t paid your dues, please do so immediately.  Payment can be given to Mike at breakfast, during our club meeting, or sent to our post office box. (SFTARC, P.O. Box 3344, Olathe, Ks. 66063). The new web site will have a renewal form to provide updates of your membership information. Please check the "roster" menu on the web site to see if your information is current and correct.

Trailer Report


Insurance claim checks have been received.  Equipment receipts included generator, coax and extension cord replacement amounts, trailer receipts included payment to Olathe Ford for repacking wheel bearings, checking and making minor repair to the trailer brakes.  Del KØDDS will look into getting a new generator.

Tech Night


Tech night in October will be held at the Fire Station at New Century Airport on 10/20/17 at 1900 hours. The presentation will "Troubleshooting Methods and Tools" by Greg Wolfe KI0KK.

Special Event


The club is having a special event on October 14th, at the Lanesfield School; address is 18745 S. Dillie Dr.  This is the 98th anniversary of the school founding.

ENSOR Tours

Web Site Rebuild

 
Greg, KIØKK, needs a couple of volunteers to help transfer files from our current web site to the new one.There were some options for support for the web site discussed.  Voted to approve $150.00 for the services asociated with building the new web site.

KCDX club will have Bob Heil K9EID at the October 30, 2017 meeting.

A Facebook account has been set up for the club "SFTARC Olathe" is the site.

The will be a Cub Scout Jamboree of the air on 10/21 from 12 to 3 pm.  Contact Jim ACØKN for more information.
