MEETING TO ORDER:

The President, Jeff Darby KE0CAZ, called the meeting to order in the Market Grille at ~7:35 AM. Attendees introduced themselves by name and call-sign. A total of 21 club members were present (quorum = 14). No guests attended.

SECRETARY-TREASURER REPORT:

Marty Peters KE0PEZ reported the receipts ($90) and disbursements ($206.25) for the month of November, the current checking account balance, and the balances in the general fund and the repeater fund. The club will soon receive a donation of $720 from the City of Olathe due to our service in support of the Ensor Park & Museum. We expect to receive ~$700 over the next several weeks as members pay their annual dues. Expenditures anticipated in the near future are to pay for the Christmas party BBQ meat and to pay for our PO Box. We do not receive a great amount of mail in the P.O. Box, but it is a needed source of credibility.

As of this meeting, there are 64 members of SFTARC, 37 of them members of ARRL. Club members are encouraged to join the ARRL.

Rules for Using the KS0KS Callsign During Club Special Events

It was moved that the following five (5) rules be adopted to govern the use of the club callsign (KS0KS) during contests and special events, including Kansas QSO Party, Kansas Day, ARRL Field Day, Parks-on-the-Air functions, and SFTARC- sponsored special event stations:

1. Anyone using the club call sign must be a member in good standing with SFTARC or be directly supervised by a club member in good standing of the SFTARC (Directly supervised means a club member must be present at the same physical location as the station using the call sign). Approval by a club officer is also required as well as notifying the Club Station Call Sign Trustee.

2. All events using the club call sign will draft a band plan created by the band plan manager and those assisting the band plan manager with the event. E-mail drafts (or distribute them in person) the Band Plan to those assisting the Band Plan Manager and the Club Station Call Sign Trustee.

3. The Band plan will include frequency allocation, mode and timing as well as phone numbers and contact information for the authorized call sign users and Band plan manager.

4. Each event will have a sequence of approvals for the band plan. This approval sequence will always include a club officer and notification of the Club Station Call Sign Trustee.

5. A list of station equipment expected to be used by authorized Call Sign Users may be required at the discretion of the Band Plan Manager, Club Call Sign Trustee and any club officer.

The motion was seconded. President Darby called for discussion but there was none. The motion passed by a voice vote of 20 in favor and 1 opposed.

2020 Class Offered by the SFTARC Leading to Amateur Extra FCC license

There are presently 6 registered for the class; a few more students are sought. Larry Hall KD0RUI will send a reminder to Larryslist. Class starts on January 11, 2020.

SFTARC Repeaters

Jim Andera K0NK continues to be in contact with officials at the Olathe Medical Center, and he is hopeful that we will get the OK to locate the repeaters there.

Club Hats

Jeff delivered hats to those that ordered them.

Kansas Day Event

KS0KS will operate three radios at Del's Radio Park & Antenna Farm in Edgerton. The event will take place Saturday, January 25, 2020, from 9AM to 3PM. We will send a QSL card to any station that sends us one.

OTHER BUSINESS:

Del suggested that the club offer another CW class. Jeff suggested scheduling one in the spring. More CW operators will be good for the club.

Marty announced that Howard Cripe has agreed to take over as Ensor Volunteer Coordinator. Thanks for stepping up, Howard!

 ADJOURN:

After a motion, a second, and a unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 AM.
