The President, Jeff Darby KE0CAZ, called the meeting to order at 7:30 AM. Attendees introduced themselves by name and call-sign. A total of 19 club members and 3 guests were present.

SECRETARY-TREASURER REPORT:

The Secretary-Treasurer Report was given by Marty Peters KE0PEZ.  He reported the checking account balance. The amounts of club revenue and disbursements since the July meeting were $253 and $423.33, respectively. The disbursements during July consisted of a $200 payment to Bob Harder to support the Kansas QSO Party and a $223.33 payment to Olathe T-Shirt for member golf shirts. Revenue consisted of a dues payments from new member Andrew Pierce and shirt payments (all are paid for). Marty will pay Risk Strategies ~$220.00 in September for equipment insurance.

Our club will provide volunteers to assist Larry Woodworth in September. A sign-up sheet for the month of September was passed around.

Club 501c7 process [Marty Peters - KE0PEZ]

The IRS has reinstated the tax-exempt status of SFTARC retroactive to the date of revocation (2013). Each year, the club secretary will electronically file the N-990 postcard report soon after the tax year ends on December 31. To maintain our tax-exempt status, our club must receive no more than 35% of our total income from sources outside of our membership.

Club Newsletter [Greg Wolfe – KI0KK]

Newsletter inputs are due by 7PM Wednesday, August 7th.

Kansas QSO Party

This event will be held on August 24-25. We will operate from Del's Radio Park in Edgerton.

Repeater issues

Karen Sundquist, the Property Manager at the Olathe Towers, requested that all antennas and equipment be removed from the building. Although over the last several weeks Jim and Larry had discussed with Karen some ideas that would have made it possible to keep the repeaters at the Olathe Towers, there was a consensus that those ideas should not be pursued and that we should proceed with a plan to remove the repeaters. Work crews will be organized on several mornings to accomplish the removal.

The club will work with the owners of the repeaters to see what assistance we can provide to them as they decide the future of their repeaters.

It was suggested that, after the repeaters are removed, our club write a letter to Karen and to others in the parent organization of the Olathe Towers thanking them for having for many years provided a site for the repeaters. This letter could include a summary of the ways in which the repeaters supported emergency communications in the county.

OTHER BUSINESS:

On Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, the Olathe Perkins Restaurant on Santa Fe Street closed its doors. The SFTARC has held its monthly meetings and its informal Saturday morning ragchew sessions for several years. Please watch for announcements on the club website, sftarc.org, for the location of the September club meeting and future ragchew sessions.

ADJOURN:

After a motion, a second, and a unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned.
