MEETING TO ORDER:
The President, Jeff Darby KE0CAZ, called the meeting to order in the Market Grill at ~7:10 AM. Attendees introduced themselves by name and call-sign. A total of 12 club members and no guests were present. Without having the number needed for a quorum (14 members), no official action could be taken at this meeting.
SECRETARY-TREASURER REPORT:
Marty Peters, KE0PEZ, reported the receipts ($595) and disbursements ($80) for the month of December, the current checking account balance, and the balances in the general fund and the repeater fund. (A $720 check from the City of Olathe to recognize our service in support of the Ensor Park & Museum was received shortly after this meeting and will be included in the February report of accounts.) We expect to receive ~$700 over the next several weeks as members pay their annual dues. An expenditure anticipated in the near future will be to pay our PO Box rental fee for 2020.
2020 Ham Class--Extra
The annual ham class started (in spite of non-ideal weather conditions) at the Salvation Army facility in Olathe immediately following the club meeting. Jeff Darby, Larry Hall KD0RIU, George McCarville WB0CNK, Jim Andera K0NK, and Greg Wolfe KI0KK are teaching the class.
Repeater Relocation
Jim K0NK reported that he is continuing to follow up with officials at OMC but that things are moving slowly.
Club Newsletter [Greg Wolfe – KI0KK]
Newsletter inputs are due by 7PM Wednesday, January 15.
Kansas Day Event
Del Sawyer K0DDS reported that the remodeled 28' recreational vehicle used for operations is heated; adequate space in the RV and multiple antennas on the grounds permit several stations to operate simultaneously. Del is making a band plan and will assign operators for the different modes.
OTHER BUSINESS:
The SFTARC has now had several monthly meetings at the Market Grille. Although this location is fairly good, the arrangement of participants in groups of eight somewhat limits hearing and the ability to interact. President Jeff suggested that we continue to evaluate other venues, such as Black Bear, as a meeting site. Some club members expressed reservations about the suitability of Black Bear.
ADJOURN:
After a motion, a second, and a unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at ~7:15 AM.
