MEETING TO ORDER:
The President, Greg Wolfe KI0KK, called the meeting to order.
Introductions of attendees were made by name and call-sign.
Secretary/Treasurer Mike Costello KBØISQ reported the bank balance and what income & expenditures for January were. Dues are payable now thru the end of February, PLEASE get them in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Tech night will be held quarterly, starting in April, 2018. The planned topic is a Ham 101 Class for our new operators from the classes. The tenative date is Saturday April 14 at the Salvation Army in Olathe. We will annonunce final details once they are known.
CW & Technician Classes
CW and Technician classes are well underway with good attendance. Class presentations are being posted on the club web site.
On January 27th, from 10 am to 3 pm at the shack of Del (KØDDS) our annual on the air commeration of Kansas becoming a state occured. Multiple operators and loggers had an enjoyable afternoon, A summary of the contacts from the log is provided in seperate newsletter article.
WW1USA for 2018.
May 11 and 12, 2018 has been secured for SFTARC sponsorship. A Coordinator for the club is needed to work with the WW1 museum personnel, PLEASE let Greg, KI0KK know if you are willing to handle the coordination as soon as possible. The plan is to use our trailer and a tent to make the event happen outdoors.
Jim Andera and Larry Hall will be the 2018 Field Day coordinators. Prior to the WW1USA event we will need to make sure we have complete any antenna repairs for both the WW1USA and Field Day events.
Tall Grass Prairie
Jim, K0NK, is going to contact the ranger at Tall Grass Prairie to see what date would be available.
Johnson County Radio Amateur Club Presentation by K0NK
Jim Andera, K0NK, will be making a presentation to JCRAC on batteries at their February 23 meeting.
