Members of the Santa Fe Trail Amateur Radio Club assembled at the fire station at New Century AirCenter near Gardner the evening of Oct. 20 for Tech Night and were rewarded for their attendance by getting the 'grand tour' of the club's new website,, courtesy of Club President Greg Wolfe, KI0KK. Using a laptop computer, he made an effort to show those present how to navigate the site to submit an article for the monthly newsletter, access the club roster or find information about some of the repeaters located in this general area, among other things.

Wolfe then turned his attention to the all-important subject of troubleshooting and, with the aid of several pieces of equipment, did his best to demonstrate the steps amateur radio operators need to be following in attempting to figure out why a particular piece of equipment isn't working the way it should. And, speaking from experience, he also had this sound piece of advice for everyone in the group: "Assume nothing!"

In addition to Wolfe, Club Vice President Larry Hall, KD0RIU, Jim Cessna, AC0KN, Mike Lane, KE0CIS, Ed Kurtz, KU0RTZ, Peg Nichols, KD0VQO, and Rick Nichols, "the old reporter," turned out for Tech Night.
