A52YL, Bhutan - April 29 through May 5, 2018
On April 29, 2018, my friend Kyoko "Mio" Miyoshi, JR3MVF, and I (Kay, WA0WOF), joined Junichi Tojo, JH3AEF, and Jusei Kitai, JA3IVU, on their 7th trip to the Kingdom of Bhutan. We operated from Dochula Eco Retreat, which is described on the Internet as the most scenic spot in Bhutan.
Mio and I were issued A52YL as a club or group license, and the two OMs used their calls, A52AEF and A52IVU, respectively. In addition, Mio and I were issued individual licenses. Mio's is A52YLM and mine is A52YLE. We had three radios and operated at an altitude of around 10,000'. Our operating site and antennas are shown above.
Please come to the SFTARC Tech Night at the Salvation Army meeting room in Olathe on July 20 at 7pm to hear about Kay's experience.
